Family Upland Hunt at South Fork Hunting Preserve in Georgia

During my Pet Portrait Road Trip this past spring, I had the absolute best time getting to know the folks over at South Fork Hunting Preserve. Based in Royston, Georgia, they offer upland hunts, pheasant throws, duck hunts, and corporate hunts too.

I spent a few days with them documenting one of the most fun tower releases I’ve ever experienced, (more to come on that in a future blog post) and photographing a few late-season upland hunts.

One of those was an afternoon hunt with the Miller family and their 6-month-old Brittany, Ringo.

I was just amazed at the natural ability and drive shown by this lil pup. At the time of this hunt, my own Brittany, Cedar, was only 7 weeks old and not even officially mine yet, so watching Ringo work filled me with so much wild excitement for what’s to come.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at South Fork Hunting Preserve and can’t wait to visit again later this year with Cedar.
