Upland Hunting at Little George Rod & Gun - Buckingham County, Virginia

Nestled just South of Charlottesville, along the James River, overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains you’ll find a pristine preserve with a focus on tradition, dogs, and hospitality.

In the Virginia shooting preserve community, Little George Rod and Gun operates a bit differently, as they only offer an exclusive 30 upland hunts per year, with unlimited birds.

Here, a 4 to 6-person hunting party is transported into expansive broomstraw fields from decommissioned British Military Land Rovers, as the resident Kopperdahl Vizslas search for early season and ongoing released quail and pheasant.

But it’s not all just about the hunt. Hospitality is also inclusive here, with before-hunt shooting clays, Two Fire Table catered lunches, in-field snack breaks, and a post-hunt happy hour around the fireplace, as the staff prepares the unlimited harvest for your transport home.

Little George also offers an annual Dove Club membership and is home to American Jake, a hunting and fishing club for teenagers in Virginia
